This is not just another kit car, nor is it anything like all the other so-called Shelby Cobras that you find scattered around the usual car shows.  You will notice that there is something very different about this Superformance MKIII.  You may have to stare at the photo for a while until you realize what you are seeing, but you do know that it's beautiful and you aren't quite sure why it grabs you so differently than all the others.  Look carefully and you will notice the lack of side pipes, roll bar and stripes.  There is something elegant about this "Gentleman's Cobra" and that is for good reason.  Back in the day, Carroll Shelby only built less than a few dozen 427 S/C Cobras complete with all the above mentioned details, yet nearly all the replicas try and chase that race look.  Carroll Shelby did in fact build 250 big block Cobras for the street.  These had either the 427 or 428 CID engine, and were equipped without roll bars, side pipes (no need for leg burns), oil coolers, stripes or dash setups with the large reverse sweeping speedometer in the lower center of the cluster.  This Superformance MKIII Roadster was built to more closely resemble and perform like the Shelby Cobra you would encounter on the street back in the day.

The Superformance Cobra is the ONLY reproduction Cobra that is licensed by Carroll Shelby and is factory assembled to the highest standards.

SPO2256 was built in late 2005 and represents the latest of the evolutionary improvements to the chassis and other features that exists with a brand new model if ordered today.  It features a super tough TKO 600 five speed transmission and a powerful Roush 402 engine that produces over 425 horsepower and 485 ft-lbs of torque.  It is optimized for the street with the optional dual plane Performer RPM manifold and extremely fun to drive even at the lowest of RPM ranges.  The specs closely resemble that of the vintage 427 side oiler with regards to power and torque so you are giving up nothing against an original 427 car.  The rear is the current Dana/BTR 3.46:1 ratio, which offers wonderful acceleration on the street and fantastic economy and efficiency when you drop into 5th gear (.68) for highway cruising below 2000 RPM.  This Superformance has been maintained by a professional mechanic since new and has obtained less than 2700 careful maintenance miles as of the time of this writing.

When compared to the price of specifying a similarly equipped new MKIII roadster you would have to pay nearly $87,000 plus tax.  SPO2256 is packed with over $10,000 in today's factory Superformance options, which really make this model stand out in value and exclusivity. Optional equipment includes the desirable painted hard top (click for photo), which is uniquely fitted and serial number stamped for this car.  The folding top, side curtains and tonneau cover are also included.  Upgraded saddle leather interior was specified by the original owner, as was the Anniversary edition Amulet Red paint.  SPO2256 also comes with a custom fitted Superformance branded car cover, Superformance floor mats (2 sets), chrome fire extinguisher, 3M paint protection, stainless steel surge tank, and the extra cost Roush polished engine package.  For those who are familiar with this later style SPF, you can be rest assured that the rear shock support upgrade has been recently performed as well.  Carroll Shelby's signature is on the glove box and includes the certificate of authenticity preceding his death, so you know it's real!

This is a great opportunity to own and enjoy one of the most sought after sports cars ever made.  Superformance is a leader in the Shelby Cobra industry and is the only factory assembled replica licensed by Carroll Shelby.  Don't make the mistake of buying a new one and then figuring out you have to pay NEW CAR taxes and then be left on your own to navigate a nightmare registration and inspection process.  SPO2256 is registered as a 1965 Ford in the state of Minnesota with collector vehicle plates. This Cobra should provide you with hassle free registration / titling and offer you immediate enjoyment at a significant price savings over new without the wait.  In MN, that amounts to only a few hundred dollars for tax, titling fees and registration for life!  Many states have similar collector car savings and conveniences (no annual emissions testing) that you won't get with a new build.

3 minute driving video inside and outside the Cobra can be viewed clicking link below.  The car currently is running straight pipes, but the mufflers are included with the car.
